Tournament Structure for the Coppa Italia
The Cop𝓀pa Italia is fairly unique, since the draw for the entire competition takes place before a ball is kicked. Teams from Italy’s top-three tiers are involved, alt🙈hough just four teams from Serie C are part of the 44 contenders every season.
With the competition kicking off early in the campaign, the preliminary round consists of four Serie C clubs and four of the lowest-ranked Serie B sides.
The remaining Serie B sides enter in the first round, joined by the 12 lowest-ranked Serie A clubs.
