🌊"Poor first half but taking him off at half-time and holding him up as the problem is a joke. Many have done much worse week in week out and are still out there."

And after Ten Hag's comments to the media, Goldbridge said: "Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post match press conference...

🎐"Not a good look throwing a 19-year-old under the bus who has actually delivered for you this season.

💙Adding further intrigue, Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo, who replaced Garnacho, placed a cryptic post on his Instagram stories.

He then added one with his hands in the air and another of Bruno Fernandes with the caption 'Magico Bruno'.

Sancho ultimately wasn't included in another matchday squad, which led to him joining Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

༺Reacting on talkSPORT, ex-Aston Villa and Chelsea midfielder Andy Townsend suggested Ten Hag should not be condemned if he decides to criticise his players.

He said: "A manager reserves the right, if he feels like he has to criticise, it doesn't always work out.

"Lots of people nowadays think it's such a crime to criticise a player, publicly or in any sort of manner.

"I come from a very different era. I don't think it's such a bad thing now and again for any young player to be on the receiving end when they haven't performed.

"My advice, if I was captain Bruno Fernandes, I would tell Garnacho to forget his social media. Get your head down and get back to what you've been brilliant at this season.

"He's under pressure, Ten Hag, and it doesn't help when players chip away on social media. It's unnecessary."
