Arsenal fan Piers Morgan believes Cristiano Ronaldo would boost the club's threat in attack.

The Gunners lacked a clinical edge in their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa🦩 that has dealt a huge blow to their Premier League title chances.

Mikel Arteta🗹 opted to start Gabriel Jesus as a No.9, even though he has scored four goals in 22 league appearances this season.

✱Eddie Nketiah, who has netted five times, replaced him off the bench but failed to make an impact, with Kai Havertz doing the same.

As a result, Talk TV host Morgan has taken issue with the club's striker problem and raised concerns after the defeat to Villa.

𓄧Taking to X, he first said: "Arsenal’s lack of a proper striker has come back to haunt us. So many chances in first half, but none taken. If [Ollie] Watkins was playing for us, we’d have won this 3-0."

Morgan then later replied to a fan suggesting he should ask his friend and footballing legend Ronaldo to come help solve their problem.

ꦕ"I think Cristiano would score 25+ goals a season in our team with the service he’d get," he said in response. "Arteta’s refusal to prioritise a top striker is his one major blind spot."

After Arsenal's failed title charge last season, Morgan told talkSPORT that the Gunners should have signed Ronaldo after he left Manchester United.

Since departing Old Trafford, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored 50 goals in 56 appearances for Saudi Arabia side Al Nassr.

🐠Although he has continued his world-class goal scoring form, Ronaldo has been irked by rival supporters chanting the name of long-term rival Lionel Messi.

One occasion saw him respond with a crude gesture♈ and he was subsequently issued with a one-game Saudi Pro League ban.

Ronaldo was recently sent off for an apparent elbow on his opponent but despite the taunts and frustrations, Saudi football expert Ben Jacobs told talkSPORT he could be set to stay for another season.

This could therefore dash Morgan's hopes of the 39-year-old sealing a move to his beloved Arsenal and boosting their title hopes.

▨Across two spells at United, Ronaldo scored 103 goals in 236 Premier League appearances, winning the Golden Boot in 2007/08.

Although a sensational transfer hasn't been completely ruled out, Arsenal will have to utilise what they already have for now.

The Gunners now sit second and two points behind league leaders Manchester City with six games left to play in the run-in.

𓄧Games against rivals Tottenham, Chelsea and United are still yet to come in the final weeks, with the title race no longer in their hands.
