The 27-year-old is expecting his first child🍸 in weeks and promised to pull out at Augusta National if his wife Meredith went into labour.

Scheffler was asked to send a message to her from Butler Cabin. He said: "I'm coming home. I'll be home as quick as I can.

"I love you and I'm coming home."

A tearful Scheffler added: "You're about to make me cry here in Butler Cabin. It's a very special time for both of us.

"I can't put into words what it means to win this tournament again and I really can't put into words what it's going to be like to be a father for the first time.

"Looking forward to getting home and celebrating with Meredith, it's been a long week without her."

Scheffler was adamant throughout the week that the birth of his child would take precedence over the Masters despite his extremely high chances of success.

🐠The American, who has now won on three of his last four starts, admitted his attention will soon shift to family, but warned rivals that will not last long.

"I don't plan on taking my eye off the ball any time soon."
